Sportsmaster | Junior School
Welcome to sport at the Junior School in 2022. I hope the start of year letter regarding sport explained many of your questions about plans for Term 1. The boys are now involved in summer sport trials (Years 4- 6). Next week, teams will be finalised for Round 1. We have our first round of IPSHA Sport and Intra-Sport on Saturday 12 February.
In addition, Year 3 will have Football each Thursday morning commencing next week and continuing on Friday afternoons beginning 18 February. They run for five consecutive Fridays between 3:10pm and 4.30pm at Summer Hill. Boys are asked to have shin pads (Rebel Sport stock these) from next Thursday. Please wear the House Shirt for sport on Fridays.
The TGS App has the Term’s draft draw on it as well as the weekly fixtures and is the most up to date and reliable source of fixture information and any changes. The weekly draw will be available from Monday 7 February and reflect each coming Saturday’s draw.
School Sport Expectations
I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents and guardians about the School’s expectations when it comes to Saturday sport.
Firstly, I bring your attention page 69 of the School Record Book. Under the title School Sport, it explains and outlines the requirements of the School. All boys from Years 4-6 must attend Saturday sport from Term 1.
If you have a prior engagement whereby your son is unable to attend a fixture you will be required to apply for leave from Mr. Mark Dunn (Head of the Junior School) prior to the Saturday in question via email or the Absence notification on the School app.
Whilst at sport, boys are required to wear their correct uniform at all times.
Both parents and boys are to adhere to the IPSHA Sports Code of Conduct. Read it here.
If there is inclement weather on a Saturday morning or a Friday afternoon, please check the TGS app for notifications. If you have any other questions about sport or the School’s sporting policy, please contact me on 9581 6136 or via email crobinson@trinity.nsw.edu.au.
We ask that all players be at the game 30 minutes prior to the start so that the coach can go over team strategies and warm up with the boys.
Please contact me if you are unsure of the School’s requirements.
