Music Department Buzz
The natural buzz of the Music Department has begun to return this week, with the commencement of Co-Curricular Ensembles. What a wonderful feeling it has been to have the sound of morning and afternoon music!
If your son has missed rehearsals this week due to what may have been an uncertain start, please encourage them to re-engage next week.
A big shout out to all new Year 7 students who sing or play a musical instrument. You can sign up for auditions in the Music Foyer and the relevant staff member will contact you. We look forward to you joining our programme.
Week 4 will see the first concert of the year. This is an initiative that I hope will become a tradition – the first Music Academy Recital. The Music Academy is made up of our Music Scholars and other invited musicians who exhibit exceptional musical ability. The recital will take place on Wednesday 23 Februrary at 6pm in the Orchestra Room.
Please keep your ears open for details related to this year’s Soloists Competition with will be held in Week 6, with heats taking place each afternoon in Week 5. Further details will be published in next week’s Newsletter.
