Chess Round 3
Round 3 was a busy round for Trinity. We not only played against Waverley according to the CAS draw, but also played a make-up match with Barker’s Senior Team due to their unexpected absence from Round 1.
Junior team
The Junior team played Waverley on Friday and had great success. Alexander Kountouris (8Mu) and Finn Canadas (8Ar) played and dominated their opponents with swift and accurate wins.

Intermediate team
The Intermediate team was unfortunately unable to play last Friday as Waverley forfeited all their intermediate players. However, this means that they were able to spend some time preparing and training for next week’s match against Knox.

Senior team
The Senior team had a really difficult match with both Waverley and Barker on Friday.
Boards 3 and 4 were forfeited by Waverley, leaving Jeremy Gergis (12Du) and James Kim (11Ar). Both players persevered through the tough battles and showed their skills.
Against Barker, as well as Jeremy and James, Kevin Zhang (12Ho) played on Board 3. All the boys played extremely well especially against these very tough opponents.

The final score was 11-1 against Waverley and 10-2 against Barker – another amazing week with outstanding results! It has been absolutely wonderful to see everyone working together and helping each other through the CAS season. We sincerely thank all players and reserves for their commitment to chess and all parents for their continuous support.
Next week, we will be playing against our strongest opponent, Knox, and everyone is training hard to get ready for the challenge. Wish us luck!
