Community Service Group

Community Service Group is a co-curricular whose guiding principle is to volunteer our time and service to provide aid to the greater community. This term, with the help of our Community Service Group peers, we have decided to organise a food drive to provide for those who are in need. We are running a food drive, beginning on Monday next week, and will donate everything we collect to Foodbank NSW, who will distribute the goods to the victims of the recent floods in NSW and Queensland.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, whose aim is to feed vulnerable Australians. Last year, one in six adults in Australia didn’t have enough to eat and 1.2 million children went hungry. Our aim is to reduce this number, but we need your help, especially during this crucial time when the floods in NSW and Queensland have caused devastation to so many communities.

During the whole of Week 7, we are asking all of you to bring in a contribution to our drive. We will be stationed in the Dining Hall every morning before Quad, from 8am – 8.20am to collect your goods.

Suggested donation:

Bottled water, Long life milk, Muesli bars, snack bars, Deodorant, soap, body wash, Shampoo, sanitary items, Baby food, Pet foods and canned food.
