News from The Arthur Holt Library
This week, with heavy hearts, we farewelled our much-loved Director of Library Services, Ms Stefanie Gaspari. After eight years spent transforming The Arthur Holt Library from a very traditional school library into a dynamic space full of light and colour, Ms Gaspari will take her passion for innovation and lifelong learning into the corporate world as she joins the Commonwealth Bank.
It’s impossible to overstate her contribution to the Library during her time at Trinity Grammar School. From our Wide Reading Programmes and School-wide reading events to our support of the IB Diploma Programme and Co-teaching Model, almost everything that we do started as a ‘provocation’ from Ms Gaspari.
In her time at Trinity, the three libraries that she oversees have catalogued a total of 34,698 books and loaned out a staggering 416,940 books – that’s an average of 141 books per day. She has also instigated a robust reading culture at the school that culminated in the establishing of a collection of books at the Field Studies Centre earlier this year.
It is difficult to imagine life in the Arthur Holt Library without her leadership, but we wish her every happiness in her new venture. She can leave knowing that she left a lasting mark on the life of school.
“You can get lost in any library, no matter the size. But the more lost you are, the more things you’ll find.”
