Trinity welcomes CAS Cadet Units for annual conference
In early February, Trinity played host to the CAS Cadet Leadership Conference for 2024. Taking place annually, the event is a combined effort by the Cadet Units of the CAS and their partnered schools, providing an invaluable opportunity for members of each Unit’s Cadet Executive, as well as staff, to discuss matters regarding their Units.
At Bishop Chambers House, the first part of the day included three sessions:
Session One saw each Unit presenting a brief overview of how their activity is organised across the year, giving attendees a chance to understand the many similarities that ensure Units run smoothly, while also highlighting the differences that make each Unit unique.
In the second session, the Cadets heard from Mr Andrew Rushbrook. Ex-Royal Australian Navy, Mr Rushbrook now works in the corporate world where he continues to use skills learnt through his time in the Navy. During his address, he was able to share his wealth of knowledge and experience regarding the value of good leadership.
Finally, the third session gave the Cadets the opportunity to discuss their learnings from the conference and share these with the staff from each Unit as a way of reflecting on areas for growth within the CAS.
Rounding out the day’s activities, Cadets and staff attended a formal Mess Dinner in the Trinity Dining Hall. It was a great opportunity for each Cadet to understand the proceedings of a Mess Dinner ahead of their Dining In Night for Year 12 students at the conclusion of their time in Cadets.
Looking forward to the rest of 2024, the TGSACU Cadet Executive is keen to implement the strategies and knowledge gained from this year’s conference as they see out the remainder of the Training Year.
