Renewal Project: August Update

The school holidays saw a flurry of activity in the progress of The Renewal Project, with both Stage 1 and 2 progressing nicely.

Stage 1 – Properties 48-52 on Seaview Street have now been demolished, with the ground level being now undergoing preparation for the next stage of works, which involves the excavation of 750m3 of soil and installation of the new services for power, sewer, and stormwater. Simultaneously, the installation of the new piling and shoring foundation works for the new building and driveway will also commence. It’s expected that these works continue throughout the month of August.

Stage 2 – The wet weather throughout June and July has seen a few delays, and as a consequence, August will see the excavation of Oval No. 3 continue. The Staff Carpark demolition is now completed, making way for the next stage of piling and shoring works to the south-eastern side of Oval No. 3.

Stage 2 – Over the July holidays, existing service isolations and relocations, along with major demolition of existing ramps and stairs for the Junior School Link Access have been completed. The chance to do these works with minimal noise and disruption to staff and students was greatly appreciated. Work is now progressing on the localised floor demolition and wall alterations for the forming of new access ramps from the Carpark to the Junior School.
