Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a shorter term, albeit a busy one for Year 4-6 sport.

We recommence Saturday Sport tomorrow. The draft draw for term is on the TGS App under ‘SPORTS’, then ‘Fixtures for the Season’, ‘Junior School Sports’. Please always check the draw ‘Fixtures for this Week’ to ascertain the venue and time of your son’s match in the current week. Team lists will still be included in the JS News on Fridays and placed on the Junior School app as has been done previously. Please be at your venue 30 minutes before the game starts, ready to warm up.

Cooke Park and Bressington Park will be our home venue for Cricket this term. All home Touch Football matches will be at Cooke Park (synthetic). Tennis will be at a new venue for this term, Cintra Park for home matches only. Cintra Park is in Concord (1b Gipps St). Basketball will continue to use the Preparatory School, Centenary Centre and the ‘Old Gym’ for our home fixtures.

Intra Sport commences tomorrow at Cooke Park on the synthetic surface and will be there for all six Saturdays. Year 4 and some Year 5s commence at 9:30am with a 9am arrival. Year 5/6 starts at 10:15am with a 9:45am arrival. The boys will play Ultimate Frisbee to commence the term complemented by training in those games on the preceding Thursdays. Most boys should have their jersey for the term which they keep until after the final Saturday on 19 November. They will then return those to me (washed) during Week 7.

Year 3 commenced Rugby yesterday as their new sport for Term 4. All boys will require a mouth guard ASAP. A moulded one from the chemist is fine. Friday sessions commence next Friday, 21 October on No. 1 Oval. Once more, the boys will be picked up from the carpark from 4:20pm on these five Friday afternoons.

Congratulations to our Track & Field captain Nathan J (6Yo) who placed 3rd at the CIS Carnival in the U12/13 800m event which was contested in the final week of last term. Nathan will now represent CIS at the NSWPSSA event which is held next week at SOPAC.
