Sport celebrates Indigenous Round

Trinity sports teams turned out in specially-designed Indigenous Round outfits to help mark Reconciliation Week.

The jerseys were presented on quad to all first team rugby, AFL, tennis, and volleyball players by former School rugby captain and current Randwick first grader Ky Willoughby (2020).

They featured patterns including waves, representing the hills of the inner west, hands representing people who had helped shape Trinity, circles of togetherness, and boomerangs for old boys who had returned.

Ky Willoughby said he was inspired to see the jersey designs, pioneered four years ago, still being featured.

“I believe true reconciliation can only happen when we come together and celebrate Aboriginal history,” he told current students.

“By wearing these colours that’s what you are doing.”
