“Buvac and Williams selected in NSW All Schools.”

T Buvac (12WJ) and D Williams’ (12Yo) outstanding year continued when on Monday both boys were selected in the NSW All Schools Team after putting in strong performances for NSWCIS at the annual NSW All Schools tournament.

Buvac was one of the standouts in the first game for CIS who pulled away late to defeat Combined Catholic Colleges by 20 points (78-58). In the second game against Combined High Schools, the Independent Schools boys fell behind early allowing CHS to jump out to a substantial lead. Williams was instrumental in CIS making a big comeback to get within striking distance of the Public School boys, with just three minutes left in the contest. Unfortunately for CIS they couldn’t keep the charge going and fell to a very big and physical CHS team by five points (74-79) for the first time in over ten years.

It is a great achievement for both these boys who have developed into elite players late in their basketball journey through a high work ethic and, just as importantly, buying into the strong attitude required to make it at the next level.
