Beethoven tells you what it’s like to be Beethoven and Mozart tells you what it’s like to be human. Bach tells you what it’s like to be the universe.

― Douglas Adams

At the recent Junior School assembly, we were entertained by Aidan G (5La), who played an arrangement of Meet the Flintstones by William Hanna on the Trombone accompanied by Mr Kinda on piano. He has been learning Trombone with Mr Aschman and he also plays piano. Aidan plays in the Allegro Concert and Prestissimo Bands. His sport of choice is soccer, but he also likes to beat his brother in video games! He says, “I like the trombone because it is challenging to play”.

Congratulations to the Junior School Choir for their performances at the Gala Concert on Wednesday night. The feedback from many parents has been glowing. Mr Bowden said, “The Gala Concert is one of the mountain-top school experiences of the year, and the mountain is not conquered easily!” For the beauty of the earth, by John Rutter soared in grace as it was superbly performed by the Combined TGS Primary Choir. Likewise, the Bach Magificat and the Sibelius Finlandia under the baton of Dr McGregor.

The Gala Concert was a musical feast and gave the Junior School Choristers a fantastic insight into the wonderful musical opportunities awaiting them as they progress through the school.

Special congratulation to the Junior School Choir Advanced Ensemble. Their student leadership and contribution in preparation for the Gala Concert was invaluable.

Thank you to all staff who served to provide such a wonderful opportunity to the Junior School Choir.

The Junior School Choir will go into recess temporarily so the resources for the Trinity Arts’ Festival – Primary Years – Music Performances can be prepared for rehearsals to recommence.

The Junior School appreciated the opportunity to thank our previous Director of Music, Mr Philip Pratt, who travelled from Brisbane with Mrs Ronnie Pratt to be with us. The warmth from the school community was a fitting response to the decades of service to music and visual arts that the Mr and Mrs Pratt duo provided for the students and community of Trinity Grammar School. Thank you Mrs and Mr Pratt! We’re very grateful.
