Tips for rehearsals with accompanist:

Know your score and give clear upbeats in the tempo you MEAN!

Studio Concerts

Congratulations to all Private Tuition students and Instrumental Staff for the eight Studio Concerts that have been presented in the last two weeks. There were over 200 individual performances from our young musicians.  I would like to commend the students for being risk-takers and preparing for some of them their very first public performance. Thanks to all the parents for your support of your son’s musical experience as the skills they are developing by learning a musical instrument will greatly assist them in all aspects of their life-long learning journey. Thanks to Ms Lousie Welsh and Mrs Jenny Swanton for their accompaniment of many of these performances.

Gala Concert

Last Wednesday evening Trinity Singers and Jaemin Yoo (Symphony Orchestra) were part of the Gala Concert, which was held at The City Recital Hall, Angel Place. The boys performed as part of the Massed Choir for Bach’s Magnificat and Finlandia and then joined forces with the Junior School Choir to sing John Rutter’s For the Beauty of The Earth. The boys were outstanding representatives for the Preparatory at this major music event considering it was a very long day and night for them all. Thanks again to Ms Smeulders, Mrs Swanton and Mrs Campbell for their work with Trinity Singers and to Mr Lever, Mr Smith, Mrs Jayasinghe and Mrs Hitz-Morton and Mr Wyatt for supporting the boys at this event.

AMEB Exams

Congratulations to the students for the outstanding results for the String examinations that were held in Week 4. Best of luck to the fifteen Preparatory School students and Instrumental Music Staff as they prepare for the piano exams to be held next week on Tuesday 8th June.

Concert Band

This term Concert Band has expanded with the addition of Lucas on trombone.  The students have been perfecting the Warm-up exercise which encourages them to listen to each other, aim for rhythmic accuracy and be able to blend their tone quality.  The Mission Impossible Theme has been a challenge with the change of timesiganture but the boys have risen to this and are now beginning to play with confidence in a 5/4 timesignature.  Thanks to Mr Malyusz and Mrs Campbell for their work with this ensemble.
