HSC at a glance
107 Trinity students undertook the HSC credential in 2021, being approximately half of the cohort, with the other half taking the IB Diploma. The HSC students received fifty Band 6 results, resulting in 29 students appearing on the Distinguished Achievers list. Particular credit is to be paid to Antony Zafiriopoulos (12Y0), who made the top achiever list in English Extension 2. In addition to achieving the HSC credential, two students also simultaneously completed School Based Traineeships in Electrotechnology.
“The class of 2021 has performed exceedingly well and I’m very proud of our boys’ achievements in the HSC,” said Head Master Tim Bowden. “This cohort have overcome significant challenges presented by the pandemic over their final two years of school.
“Despite these challenges, we saw them apply the attributes at the heart of Trinity’s approach to academic endeavour, such as self-management, personal learning focus and persistence. They all should be very proud as they have demonstrated what can be achieved with focus and commitment to learning – characteristics which will hold them in good stead for the future. As our Year 12 boys move into post-secondary education and vocation, we wish them well.”
Mr Bowden added that the widely publicised school rankings did not paint the full picture, being based solely on HSC results and excluding the ATARs of Trinity’s 111 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma students.
