From the Sportsmaster | Junior School

It has been a very fast start to the year!

The boys are enjoying getting into their PE lessons, learning new skills and revisiting old ones. The FAST programme has also started well as we endeavour to not only make our boys active, but also active in the correct way.

Tomorrow, Saturday, 12 February, is the first round of Inter and Intra school sport.  All boys should know which team they will be commencing with for the first half of the summer season, the second half is held during Term 4.

A reminder to parents that two parents are allowed to attend OUTDOOR sport.

One parent is allowed to attend INDOOR sport at all Trinity venues. You must be double vaccinated and QR code on arrival.

If your son is at an away venue and the rules of the opposition school are different to Trinity’s, I will notify you via the App.

On the TGS App there is a draft draw with fixtures for the entire six weeks of Term 1 Summer Sport including times and venues, with addresses and location maps. Please download the app and select Junior School Sport notifications as well as your relevant Year group if you haven’t done so. If there are any sport cancellations, I will update the app so ensure notifications are turned on. We will not use the Wet Weather Line in 2022 which is a correction from my previous correspondence.

Game Times and Locations

Please pay careful attention to the fixtures list, noting time and the venue most importantly. Please be at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the game. The time specified on the app and in the newsletter is game start time.

Swimming Trials for Junior School 2022 Swim Team.

Next Tuesday are the swimming trials for selected Years 2 to 6 boys. You should have received an email regarding the trials this week and replied to me by email if you wish your son to swim in this event.

Tuesday Morning Training

To those boys who have been selected in the 1s t V,2nd V or 4A V Basketball teams, the 6A or 5A Cricket sides or Touch Football ‘A’ team in 2022 there is a compulsory session each Tuesday morning at 7am, commencing next week, Tuesday 15 February and running each Tuesday until and including 15 March. The Basketballers will train in the Centenary Centre and Softfall area under the direction of Mr Tsangarliotis, Mr So and Mr Su.  The Cricketers will be training at Summer Hill on Number 3 oval and nets at the same time, reporting initially to Mr Cassell. The Touch Footballers will meet Miss Martin and Miss Pollitt on No.1 oval. Any boys not selected in these teams but wishing to improve are encouraged to attend but it is not compulsory. Please do not turn up part way through a session as it disrupts the session.

Once again if you have any questions or are unsure of the requirements of the boys to attend their Saturday sporting event, please do not hesitate to get in contact with me on 9581 6136 or 0438 980 602.
