Careers: Planning Ahead

Careers: Planning Ahead

At the moment, universities and colleges are busy settling their new students into courses so they haven’t shared a lot of information about their new programmes or student opportunities – yet.

Away from the deadlines and information overload that comes with the publication of application processes, scholarship details and early entry opportunities, now is a good time to start careers conversations. Sometimes these conversations serve to provide students with direction, often they include developing an understanding of the language around starting a university or college application.

The theme at the centre of the careers programme explores ways to move from the ‘I know what I don’t know’ bucket into the useful ‘I know what I know’ block of information. Encouraging your sons to review their current position and start a conversation to explore the things that they know they don’t know, will help them develop confidence when they get to the time where they need to make decisions about their course applications.

Students are welcome to email me to make an appointment to have a careers conversation.

Please refer to Courses & Contacts for details of courses and contacts that may be of interest to you and your sons.
