Staying COVID Safe

All families are expected to monitor the NSW Health Website and adhere to the advice as appropriate.

Students must not attend School if:

  • They have any, however mild, cold or flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore/scratchy throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste or sense of smell)
  • They have been tested for COVID-19 and have not yet received their test result
  • They have been directed by NSW health to self-isolate
  • They have tested positive for COVID-19
  • They are a designated secondary close contact. The student must get a COVID-19 test and self-isolate until they and the close contact receive a negative result.
  • Someone in their household has symptoms of COVID-19. The household member should be tested and if they are negative, the student can then return to school.

It is expected that all students will attend school as required, unless they are directed to stay at home as per the current health advice.

Parents should contact the:

  • Head of the Middle and Senior Schools; or
the Deputy Head of either the Junior or Preparatory Schools
  • as relevant to their son’s context if they believe there is a reason their son cannot return to school.
  • Students, in the Middle and Senior School must when indoors, be wearing a properly fitted face mask.
  • Masks are no longer mandatory outdoors.
  • Masks are strongly recommended for primary school students.
  • Students should bring their own masks: a plain dark coloured 3-layer cloth mask or a light blue disposable.
  • Avoid physical contact in greetings, such as shaking hands or hugging.
  • Students will be reminded to use hand sanitiser as they enter and leave rooms as well as washing hands thoroughly as appropriate.
  • Maintain respiratory hygiene – cover a cough/sneeze and dispose of tissues.

Under the current guidelines strict COVID-safe practices must be followed for staff and students when at school, including mask wearing where applicable and physical distancing.

Consideration will always be given to physical distancing and limiting interactions between groups.

As a minimum, students should ensure that the 1.5 metre rule can be applied between people whenever possible.

Students will be reminded to maintain social distancing wherever possible.

Facilities (eg. toilets), timings and movement routes are being managed to minimise casual contact with students in other cohorts.

Non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites.

Parents should:

  • Follow the physical distancing advice for their local area and avoid gathering outside of school gates.
  • Remain outside of school grounds or within your car.
  • Different arrangements apply to drop-off and pick-up for OSH Club, because of the different sign-in and sign-out procedures.

Enhanced COVID-19 cleaning arrangements will remain in place, including:

  • cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as benchtops, desks, doorknobs, taps, and hand rails at regular intervals throughout the day
  • cleaning and disinfecting frequently used objects such as computers, photocopiers, and sports equipment
  • providing bins and hand sanitiser in every classroom and emptying bins regularly throughout the day
  • thoroughly cleaning frequently touched points in bathrooms after each break time and at the end of the day

VACCINATIONS
All staff at the School are required to be fully vaccinated.

The School strongly encourages all students eligible for COVID-19 vaccination to do so. Details about vaccinations are available from NSW Health.

If your son has been vaccinated, let the School know as soon as possible by completing this form.

The School has undertaken an extensive ventilation audit of its indoor learning spaces to ensure adequate air circulation in all indoor environments.

Air purifiers with HEPA filters will be installed in appropriate locations, as required.
